The research institutes of the Amsterdam UMC have joined forces to launch a new Mentor Programme for researchers of all levels (PhD candidates, postdocs, assistant professors, associate professors, professors) and research areas (basic, clinical and computational research). Through this mentoring programme, the research institutes aim to provide additional support and guidance to researchers regardless of their career stage.
Do you have questions about your career in research and would you like to discuss them in a confidential setting with a more experienced researcher? Or would you like to share your experiences with other (younger) researchers? Then sign up as a mentee or mentor (or both)! During one academic year (November 2023-July 2024), paired researchers can discuss different themes, which will depend on the mentee's specific needs or faced obstacles.
Where and when?
Matches will be made in October and will be announced in early November. In November we will also mark the start of the mentoring programme with a kick-off meeting. After matching, mentor-mentee pairs can meet on their own initiative within one academic year, from November 2023 to July 2024. We recommend to meet up 4-6 times in a year.
