Amsterdam Neuroscience
In September Jong Amsterdam UMC organized a Dutch webinar about sleep with dr. Maarten Soeters and dr. Winni Hofman. We learned a lot about our metabolism, the importance of sleep and ways to improve our sleep, but we also received a number of questions about dreaming.
Therefore, in this English webinar, Dr. Martin Dresler will take us through the science of dreams. We will learn more about the neurological base of dreaming and its purpose. We will also go into lucid dreaming (a type of dream where the dreamer becomes aware that they are dreaming). How does Lucid dreaming work and can we learn to control the content of our dreams?
Dr. Martin Dresler is associate professor for cognitive neuroscience at Radboudumc, where he leads the Donders Sleep & Memory Lab. He was trained in biopsychology, philosophy and mathematics at Ruhr University, Bochum; received his PhD from Philipps University, Marburg; and performed postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry, Oxford University and Stanford University. The research of his group centers on the cognitive neuroscience of sleep.
