With his talk titled: “GI tract immunity, the microbiome, and progressive SIV/HIV infections”
About the speaker: Dr. Brenchley received a master’s degree from Idaho State University in 1999 and received a Ph.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 2003. He joined NIH as a research fellow, studying immunopathogenesis and mucosal immunology in HIV-infected individuals. In 2008, he became a tenure track investigator and was awarded tenure in 2013 in NIAID. In 2024 he became the Chief of the Lab of Viral Diseases and continues his work in GI tract pathology and viral immunology.
