Meet Amber Boots
Amber Boots is a neuroscientist studying how early-life experiences shape brain health across the lifespan. Her research integrates neuroimaging, epidemiological studies and methodological research.
What motivates Amber Boots to do this research?
“I am naturally curious, and I find the brain fascinating. The importance of early-life influences on brain development is increasingly being recognized, and I want to improve our understanding of how these experiences relate to brain health throughout life, including brain aging.
In addition, I study what evidence is needed to guide prevention policy and how methodological guidance can help improve the quality of that evidence.”
What impact does Amber Boots hope her research will have?
“I hope my research contributes to a better understanding of how early-life experiences shape brain health across the lifespan, helping to identify opportunities for prevention from the earliest stages of life.
At the same time, I aim to strengthen the methodological foundations of prevention research, so that scientific evidence can better inform healthcare, public health and policy.”
