Are you a future, current, or graduating PhD candidate looking to advance your academic career? The Amsterdam UMC Doctoral School is offering several scholarships, travel grants, and awards for researchers at different stages of their journey.
The opportunities include:
- UvA MD/PhD Scholarship 2027 – for excellent and scientifically minded medical Bachelor's or pre-master's students who wish to combine the UvA medical Master's programme with PhD research (deadline: 16 August).
- PhD Scholarship 2027 – three scholarships available for outstanding Master's students in Medicine, Medical Informatics, Biomedical Sciences, or Social Sciences (deadline: 30 September).
- PhD Travel Grant 2027 – ten travel grants from the Amsterdam UMC Foundation for current PhD candidates in the first half of their PhD to support research or training abroad (deadline: 2 October).
- 2026 Thesis Design Award – for young doctors who defended their PhD in 2026, recognizing thesis covers and layouts with artistic quality, relevance, and originality (deadline: 1 November).
