In the summer of 2019, two young neurologists (Dr. Eva Strijbis and Dr. Zoé van Kempen) started their additional training to become MS experts. To support them, the National MS Foundation provided a subsidy for two years to the MS Centrum Amsterdam. These two years have come to an end, but the ambitions of the two neurologists reach further. The National MS Foundation decided to continue their support in the upcoming two years so that they can continue to grow into a future of (inter)national experts in the field of MS.

For the past two years, both Strijbis and Van Kempen have been dedicated to MS care at the MS Center Amsterdam. Both have become part of the experienced academic MS team of neurologists, radiologists, rehabilitation specialists, and immunologists. As a result, they have gained a lot of knowledge and experience. They now contribute by giving their view on MS care and the continuous scientific developments in the field of MS. In addition to providing academic patient care, Strijbis and Van Kempen were involved in improving the quality of care processes and gave a lot of education.

Thanks to the ongoing support of the National MS Foundation, the young MS experts can continue their specialism in the MS Center Amsterdam for the next two years. In addition to their care and teaching duties, they are also involved in scientific research. Both supervise physician researchers and coordinate national clinical MS studies. These studies are aimed at achieving the right treatment for the individual patient. With great pleasure, the two neurologists also dedicate themselves to the National MS Foundation by, for example, giving presentations at the National MS Day and helping to develop information material about MS.
