Supreme Nudge is a five-year research project funded by the Dutch Heart Foundation and ZonMw. Amsterdam UMC collaborates with partners from the VU Amsterdam, University of Amsterdam, Utrecht University, UMC Utrecht, the Netherlands Nutrition Centre and supermarket chain Coop to make supermarket environments healthier through nudging and price promotions.
The supermarket intervention, focused at adults with a lower socio-economic position, is designed to make healthier lifestyle choices easier by adjusting the context in which these choices are made. The intervention is combined with a M-health intervention that promotes walking with the aim to ultimately investigate the effects on lifestyle behaviors and cardiometabolic disease risk. Within this project, we are specifically interested in whether these environmental interventions are effective in reducing cardiometabolic risk factors on the long term.
