Contributing to the clarification of resilience in older people in order to facilitate the use of resilience in future research and care practice.

Many older people do remarkably well despite the adversities (e.g. loss) they encounter: they are resilient. A better understanding of the factors that play a role in this resilience in older people may provide opportunities to improve their wellbeing.

We aim to facilitate the use of resilience in future research and care practice by contributing to the clarification of what resilience in older people is. To that end we employ a conceptual systematic literature review, focus group study and quantitative data-analyses (e.g. using (InterRAI) data from long term care facilities).
