Are you a mid-career researcher with the ambition to improve your knowledge and skills to become a leading researcher in public health and care research? The CaRe leadership program might be for you!

Becoming a leader in the public health and care research domain requires more than being an excellent scientist. In addition to acquiring competencies concerning content, one also needs the knowledge, skills and tools to understand and manage the context. Therefore, the Netherlands School of Public Health and Care Research (CaRe), in which APH is a partner organization, has established an internationally oriented Public Health and Care Research Leadership Program of which the first edition started in 2021. The third edition will start in July 2023.

The new leaders in public health research

The program is intended for postdoctoral researchers with more than 5 years’ experience (postdocs, assistant/associate professors), who have the ambition to improve their knowledge and skills to become leading researchers in public health and care research. From the APH research institute, 3-5 researchers can participate in the third edition of the two year program (the exact number depends on the numer of partifipcants form the other institutions). APH will cover €7,000 of the program’s registration fee. A contribution of €1,500 of the candidate’s department is required. Overnight stays of €80—€125 per night are not included and must be paid by the candidate.

How to join

Interested researchers who meet the criteria can apply before January 31, 2023 by writing to aph@amsterdamumc.nl with the following 5 documents: (1) motivation letter candidate, (2) motivation letter direct supervisor, (3+4) two reference letters, and (5) CV demonstrating the candidate’s research track record, current and future research activities and leadership experience.
