General
Graphical abstracts are becoming essential in scientific publishing, but turning complex biomechanical or physiological concepts into a clear visual story can be challenging.
In this hands‑on workshop offered to AMS registered PhD candidates, science‑communication expert Liesbeth Smit will show you how to design graphical abstracts that are both visually appealing and scientifically accurate.
In the workshop you will learn to:
- Structure and visualize your scientific message effectively
- Apply core design principles (hierarchy, colour, balance, typography)
- Translate complex movement‑science concepts into clear visuals
- NOTE: Bring a graphical abstract (or a scientific abstract you’d like to turn into one) so you can immediately apply the workshop tips to your own research.
You’ll leave with practical skills to make your research more visible, accessible, and impactful, both inside and outside academia.
