Oncology Graduate School Amsterdam is dedicated to the training and education of more than 900 PhD students working in the field of oncology in Amsterdam. It’s a joint graduate school of the Netherland’s two leading cancer institutes, Amsterdam UMC and NKI-AvL.

Every oncology PhD candidate can join OOA courses (free of charge), including a basic oncology course, courses on specific tumor types and topics within oncology, as well as new groundbreaking technologies which will provide the students with the right skills and expertise to apply these methods in their own research. A subset of the OOA courses is aimed at improving the ‘generals skills’ of PhD candidates, which will not only help them successfully complete their PhD project, but also better prepare them for a future job.

The Oncology Graduate School is very proud that they have managed to maintain their course program during the COVID-19 pandemic by converting all their courses to online platforms, thanks to the flexibility of the course organizers, teachers, as well as the PhD candidates.
